Art leasing

Lease a work for your company, with an option to buy at the end of the contract.

A work on the balance sheet costs cash. Leased, it costs a rent.

How it works

1

You choose the work

From the catalogue, the Reserve or an exhibition. We issue the invoice in the name of the finance company.

2

We prepare the application

Your last three balance sheets and a company registration extract. The finance company usually replies within forty-eight working hours.

3

The work is delivered

Installed and insured from signature. You pay a monthly rent; the work is yours to enjoy.

Tax treatment

Rent as an expense

Rent is recorded as an operating expense and deducted from taxable profit over the whole term of the contract.

Recoverable VAT

The VAT on each rent payment is recoverable under ordinary rules, whereas a purchase ties up cash all at once.

Off balance sheet

The work does not go on the balance sheet and does not affect borrowing capacity. It does so only if you exercise the purchase option.

The applicable regime depends on your company's legal form and financial year. We put you in touch with your accountant before signature.

Terms and purchase option

12 months

Highest rent, lowest total cost.

24 months

The usual compromise for a first piece.

36 months

The most requested term for an office work.

48 months

The lightest rent, for major pieces.

At the end of the contract, three options: exercise the purchase option and keep the work, return it, or replace it with another piece from the gallery under a new contract.

Frequently asked questions

Which companies are eligible?

Any legal entity subject to French corporation tax or taxed on business or professional profits (BIC/BNC): SARL, SAS, SCI subject to corporation tax, liberal professions, associations under certain conditions. At least one closed financial year is generally required.

Is there a down payment?

Usually none. A larger first payment may be requested from young companies or for high amounts; it then reduces the following payments.

Who insures the work during the contract?

It is covered from delivery, including theft and damage, by the contract's insurance or by an extension of your business insurance. We check the cover with you.

Can the work be moved?

Yes, within the company's premises, after informing the insurer. A loan to an exhibition is possible: we arrange the transport.

What if the work increases in value?

The gain is yours if you exercise the purchase option: the residual price is set at signature, regardless of the artist's market value.

Does leasing apply to all works?

For works with a displayed price from €3,000 excluding VAT. For a piece whose price is on request, ask for the price: we will then look at the arrangement.
